Exclusive. Akdital Accelerates Internationally with an Imminent Acquisition in Saudi Arabia
Akdital is increasingly focusing on international growth, supported by a robust pipeline that includes Dubai, Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, and Ras al-Khaimah. Meanwhile, the group's expansion in Morocco continues at a steady pace. Imminent Acquisition in Saudi Arabia According to our sources, following the confirmed acquisition of the prestigious Mishari Hospital in Riyadh, which is expected to yield benefits starting January 2026, the group is on the verge of announcing a second significant operation in Saudi Arabia. This time, the acquisition will take place in Mecca, aimed at strengthening its presence in a dynamic and premium hospital market, strongly backed by local authorities. This imminent acquisition positions Akdital at the heart of one of the most promising markets in the MENA region. The Kingdom, in line with its Vision 2030, is opening its hospital sector widely to international operators capable of delivering standards, management capacity, and clinical expertise quickly. Rapidly Expanding Project Pipeline In addition to these facilities, two greenfield hospitals are under construction in Dubai. We also learn that the group is developing a greenfield hospital in the heart of Riyadh, where the land has already been acquired, and construction permits are expected within the next three months to commence work. Furthermore, several targets in the region have entered the group's radar and are currently under advanced negotiations in Jeddah, Medina, and Ras al-Khaimah. In Morocco, Akdital remains on track with the planned opening of clinics in medium-sized cities such as Inezgane, Taza, Larache, Khémisset, and Al Hoceima between late 2025 and 2026. The Prime Hospitals in Casablanca, Fès, Agadir, and Tangier will enhance the high-end hospital segment starting from 2026-2027. Diagnostic Centers to be Launched in the Middle East Initially designed to be deployed in Morocco with an expected impact from the second half of 2027, the strategy for diagnostic centers has been completely redirected towards the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Ras al-Khaimah, to avoid creating friction with the private medical sector in Morocco. The concept is already well-established in the Middle East, developed, and profitable, with local players demonstrating the robustness of the model. The diagnostic centers project will be financed by a total budget of 2 billion dirhams, jointly supported by Akdital, its partners PropCo, its usual banking partners, and Mediterrania Capital, which will participate in this new phase of expansion.
