Akdital Rebrands Abdul Rahman Al Mishari Hospital in Riyadh, Expanding International Footprint

Akdital's Strategic Move in the Middle East
In a significant development for its internationalization strategy, Moroccan healthcare group Akdital has officially rebranded the Abdul Rahman Al Mishari Hospital in Riyadh. This move underscores Akdital's ambitions to establish a strong presence in the Middle East.
Transformation of a Renowned Medical Institution
Now operating under the name Akdital Hospitals Riyadh – Al Olaya, the facility has transitioned to Moroccan ownership, reflecting a broader evolution in the healthcare landscape of Saudi Arabia's capital.
Founded in 1987 by the esteemed gynecologist Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Mishari, the hospital has built a reputation as a leading medical institution in Riyadh. It is recognized for its clinical excellence and commitment to international quality standards.
The hospital features over 140 inpatient beds and employs more than 500 staff members, offering a comprehensive range of multidisciplinary medical and surgical services. Additionally, it houses more than 44 outpatient clinics, catering to a diverse array of medical needs in a highly specialized environment.
Accreditations and Recognition
The hospital's reputation is further bolstered by several prestigious accreditations, including those from the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), the Joint Commission International (JCI), Accreditation Canada, and the American Association of Continuing Medical Education (AACME). These certifications position the hospital among the best-accredited facilities in the region.
Strengthening Akdital's International Strategy
This acquisition and operational integration significantly enhance Akdital's footprint in the Saudi market, which is characterized by a dynamic demographic, substantial public investments in healthcare, and a continuous elevation of hospital standards.
The rebranding is part of an active international pipeline for Akdital, which recently announced the acquisition of Tunisia's leading Taoufik Hospitals Group for $90 million. This platform generated $45 million in revenue in 2024, boasting impressive profitability levels with a 35% EBITDA margin and a 13% net margin.
Future Prospects in the Region
Looking ahead, Akdital aims to accelerate its expansion within the Kingdom. The group has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to acquire a majority stake in Bishri Hospital, located in Mecca. This acquisition is contingent upon the completion of regulatory and operational procedures, which are expected to finalize in the coming weeks.
According to management, additional significant projects in the Middle East are anticipated to be announced starting in 2026, reflecting a clear intent to build a regional hospital network centered around robust, profitable platforms that adhere to the highest international standards.
