Akdital: Over 200 MDH in Profits in the First Half of 2025, Up 69%
In the first half of 2025, Akdital continued to implement its national expansion plan, opening a facility in Guelmim and acquiring two clinics in Laâyoune. The group now operates 4,111 beds across 21 cities, reaffirming its commitment to providing quality healthcare to populations nationwide. This expansion not only increases capacity but also directly contributes to job creation, with 1,440 new positions established since the beginning of 2025 and a total of 3,756 since the first half of 2024. The group currently employs 8,530 staff, enhancing its social and economic impact in the regions where it operates. Additionally, Akdital has intensified its efforts in medical innovation, successfully conducting several pioneering interventions in Morocco and Africa, particularly in robotic surgery. Notable achievements this semester include a robotic total prostatectomy via tele-surgery between Casablanca and Laâyoune, the first implantation of a leadless pacemaker in Morocco, and the first interventional bronchoscopy in Africa. In terms of financial performance, Akdital reported consolidated revenue of 2,093 million MAD in the first half of 2025, marking a 68% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This growth is primarily driven by contributions from facilities opened between 2024 and 2025, as well as the strengthening of its historical operations. The two main business segments, multidisciplinary care and oncology, saw significant growth, with increases of 73% and 65%, respectively, compared to the first half of 2024. The consolidated EBITDA reached 533 million MAD as of June 30, 2025, reflecting a 60% increase from the first half of 2024, driven by higher activity levels and effective operational management. The consolidated net profit stood at 214 million MAD, up 69% from the first half of 2024, with the group’s share of net profit (RNPG) at 194 million MAD. The group's sustained network development is accompanied by increased investments aimed at equipping newly opened facilities and preparing for future expansions. In the first half of 2025, Akdital invested 1,013 million MAD, a 78% increase from the first half of 2024. Consolidated net debt rose to 2,886 million MAD as of June 30, 2025, compared to 1,753 million MAD at the end of December 2024, reflecting a 65% increase due to financing for expansion investments. Looking ahead, Akdital plans to open 12 new facilities in 2025. Following the commissioning of three facilities in the first half and three more operational at the beginning of the second half, six additional openings are expected by the end of the year. This trajectory supports Akdital's ambition to reach 62 facilities in over 32 cities and increase its capacity to more than 6,200 beds by 2027. Internationally, Akdital continues to explore opportunities in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, with initial initiatives already underway. The group has commenced construction of a 200-bed hospital in Dubai, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027, and signed a memorandum of understanding with Dr Abdul Rahman Al Mishari for Development for the leasing and management of the Abdul Rahman Al Mishari Hospital in Riyadh.
