
During the recent meeting, the Supervisory Board co-opted two new members:
- Sarah AlBakeri, as a member of the Supervisory Board, replacing Mr. Nabil Almessabi for the remainder of his term.
- Afif Saif Al Yafei, as a member of the Supervisory Board, replacing Ms. Fatma AlShaygi for the remainder of her term.
The Supervisory Board also noted the change in the Permanent Representative from Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA), now represented by Mr. Andreas Collor, who replaces Mr. Andres Calderon Acuna.
The Board welcomed the new members and expressed gratitude to Ms. Fatma AlShaygi, Mr. Nabil Almessabi, and Mr. Andres Calderon Acuna for their commitment and contributions to the development of TAQA Morocco.
Ms. Sarah AlBakeri is the Human Resources Director at TAQA Generation, with over twenty years of experience in human capital roles at major institutions such as ADNOC Distribution, AMMROC, and Tabreed in the United Arab Emirates. She has extensive experience in establishing performance-oriented corporate cultures, prioritizing employee well-being, diversity, equity, and inclusion, while promoting responsible governance and a long-term vision conducive to innovation and sustainable growth.
Ms. AlBakeri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Information Sciences in Communication and an Executive Master's degree with distinction in Public Administration from Zayed University in the UAE. She also has an Executive Master's degree in Change Management from INSEAD Singapore.
Dr. Afif Saif Al Yafei is an experienced leader in the energy and utilities sectors, serving as the Chief Executive Officer of TAQA Transmission since 2020. He oversees the strategy, construction, and operation of high-voltage electricity transmission and water distribution networks in Abu Dhabi and the region. With recognized expertise in asset management, project delivery, and business portfolio development, Dr. Afif has played a key role in the strategic direction of TAQA Transmission, developing deep expertise in supply security, operational reliability, and long-term sustainability.
Before joining TAQA, Dr. Afif held leadership positions at National Central Cooling Company (Tabreed), including Executive Vice President of Asset Management. He also spent over ten years at ADNOC Gas Processing, contributing to major initiatives in operational excellence and asset management.
Dr. Afif serves on the board of Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC), where he chairs the audit, risk management, and compliance committee. He is also a member of the boards of Abu Dhabi Offshore Transmission Company and Mirfa Seawater Treatment & Supply Company.
He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Abu Dhabi, as well as a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Engineering from the United Arab Emirates University, combining academic excellence with extensive experience to actively contribute to the future of the energy sector.
