Manufacturing Industries: 0.1% Decrease in the Producer Price Index in September
In September 2025, the producer price index for manufacturing industries fell by 0.1%. This decline was primarily due to a 0.2% decrease in food industries, a 0.5% drop in the manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products, a 0.3% reduction in electrical equipment manufacturing, a 1% decline in rubber and plastic product manufacturing, and a 0.1% decrease in the textile industry, according to a report from the HCP regarding the industrial, energy, and mining producer price index (IPPIEM). The report also noted a 0.1% increase in metallurgy and chemical industries, a 0.3% rise in the clothing industry, a 0.4% increase in leather and footwear manufacturing, and a 0.6% rise in machinery and equipment manufacturing. Additionally, the producer price index for the extractive industries decreased by 0.1% in September 2025. In contrast, the indices for electricity production and distribution, as well as water production and distribution, remained stable.
