
Overview of Price Changes
The production price index recorded a modest decline of 0.1% in December 2025, as reported by the High Commission for Planning (HCP). This decrease was primarily influenced by a 0.7% drop in food industry prices and a 0.4% reduction in automotive sector prices.
Sector-Specific Price Movements
Conversely, several sectors experienced price increases. The beverage manufacturing sector saw a rise of 1.1%, while the clothing industry reported a 0.5% increase. Additionally, the rubber and plastic products manufacturing sector rose by 0.8%, and furniture manufacturing prices increased by 0.9%.
Other notable increases included a 0.3% rise in textile industry prices, along with a 0.1% increase in metallurgy, chemical industry, and the manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products.
Stability in Extractive and Utility Industries
In contrast, the production price indices for the extractive industries, as well as for electricity and water production and distribution, remained stable throughout December 2025.
