Manufacturing Industries: 0.1% Decrease in the Producer Price Index in September

In September 2025, the producer price index for manufacturing industries decreased by 0.1%. This decline was primarily due to a 0.2% drop in food industry prices, a 0.5% decrease in the manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products, a 0.3% reduction in electrical equipment manufacturing, a 1% fall in rubber and plastic product manufacturing, and a 0.1% decrease in the textile industry, according to a report from the HCP regarding the industrial, energy, and mining producer price index (IPPIEM).
The report also noted price increases in several sectors, including a 0.1% rise in metallurgy and chemical industries, a 0.3% increase in the clothing industry, a 0.4% rise in leather and footwear manufacturing, and a 0.6% increase in machinery and equipment manufacturing.
Additionally, the producer price index for the extractive industries declined by 0.1% during September 2025. In contrast, the indices for electricity production and distribution, as well as water production and distribution, remained stable.
