Last August was the best month ever recorded for tourism revenues, reaching 19.1 billion MAD, which represents a 13% increase compared to August 2024, according to a statement from the ministry.
This performance was driven by a significant rise in visitor numbers, bringing the total to 13.5 million tourists in the first eight months of the year, a 15% increase compared to 2024. This trend highlights the robustness of the current tourism dynamics, as noted in the same source.
In the statement, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, emphasized that these results reflect the essential role of tourism in the national economy. "As a major source of foreign currency, the sector directly contributes to national growth dynamics. We remain committed to strengthening and accelerating this trajectory," she added.
