The Moroccan automotive sector concluded 2025 with unprecedented sales figures, totaling 235,372 vehicles. This represents a remarkable growth of 33.43% compared to 2024.
December Sales Surge
December alone confirmed this upward trend, with registrations reaching 27,354 units, a significant increase from 22,622 units in the same month the previous year, reflecting a rise of 20.92%.
Breaking down the figures, passenger vehicles accounted for 24,453 units sold, up by 19.88%, while light commercial vehicles saw a substantial increase, totaling 2,901 units, which is a growth of 30.44%.
Passenger Vehicles Lead the Market
Throughout the year, passenger vehicles remained the primary driver of the market, with 208,848 units sold, reflecting a 32.91% increase from 2024.
The light commercial vehicle segment also demonstrated robust growth, achieving 26,524 units sold, marking an annual increase of 37.70%.
Strong Demand and Market Dynamics
This growth trajectory is indicative of strong demand, fueled by both households and businesses, amidst a rapid renewal of the vehicle fleet and a gradual normalization of economic activity.
Market Leaderboard
In terms of manufacturers, the market hierarchy remained relatively stable, although competition intensified. Dacia retained its leading position with 47,887 sales, capturing 20.3% market share, an increase of 21.8% year-on-year.
Renault followed in second place with 41,050 units sold, representing 17.4% market share and one of the highest growth rates in the sector at 44.8%.
Hyundai emerged as the third-largest player with 16,996 sales, up by 29.9%, ahead of Peugeot, which recorded 14,657 units sold, reflecting a notable increase of 46.1%, and Volkswagen with 14,011 sales, a growth of 20.3%.
Opel showed signs of recovery with 12,879 units sold, marking a 33.2% increase, while Citroën reached 12,423 sales, up by 19.2%. Toyota continued its upward trajectory with 11,876 units sold, a rise of 25.9%, followed by Fiat with 10,654 sales (+28.7%) and Kia, rounding out the top ten with 10,030 units (+25.4%).
Concentration of Market Share
The top ten manufacturers accounted for nearly 75% of total registrations in 2025, underscoring the dominance of established European and Asian brands while highlighting a broad and transversal growth indicative of a market now structured around significant volumes.
