Orange Maroc has officially activated its 5G network today, marking a significant milestone in the digital transformation of the Kingdom. The network currently covers more than a hundred cities, with plans for gradual deployment across the entire territory.
The 5G technology promises smoother experiences for the general public, including ultra HD streaming, latency-free video calls, immersive gaming, smart home applications, telemedicine, and immersive training. Additionally, it serves as a competitive advantage for businesses through real-time collaboration, remote management, and automation.
The operator emphasizes its robust infrastructure, which includes over 12,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables, state-of-the-art data centers, a sovereign cloud, and more than 100 billion dirhams invested since its inception. It also highlights the importance of its submarine cables connecting Europe to Africa, positioning Morocco as a regional digital hub.
“With 5G, Orange Maroc takes a new step in its mission: to bring Moroccans closer to what is essential for them,” stated its General Director, Hendrik Kasteel. The company also underscores the energy efficiency of this technology, which is more sustainable than 4G, and its commitment to sustainable digital solutions.
