Impact of Severe Weather on Fuel Supply
The Ministry has acknowledged that adverse weather conditions have hindered the unloading of certain cargoes transported by ships, leading to temporary disruptions in market supply.
In response, the Ministry is closely monitoring the situation in collaboration with all stakeholders, focusing on stock levels and the volume of cargo awaiting unloading.
Current Stock Levels and Market Readiness
The Ministry has confirmed that the national stock of petroleum products exceeds 617,000 tons, a volume deemed sufficient to meet market demands during the waiting period for the unloading of additional shipments totaling over one million tons.
Safety Measures in Flood-Affected Areas
In regions impacted by flooding, some gas stations have been temporarily closed to mitigate pollution risks and ensure marine environmental safety.
Preventive Actions and Coordination Efforts
The Ministry has highlighted the implementation of preventive measures, including the activation of monitoring tools and enhanced coordination among sector players to ensure a steady supply across all regions.
A vigilance unit remains operational for daily monitoring, alongside quality control of products at the National Laboratory of Energy and Mines, to facilitate the resumption of unloading operations as weather conditions improve.
Longstanding Experience in Climate Management
The Ministry reiterated that these measures are part of decades of experience in anticipating and managing the impacts of climatic events.
