
The increase in the production index is primarily attributed to growth in several sectors. Notable rises include the food industry at 11.3%, the manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products at 12.2%, the chemical industry at 4.3%, the automotive industry at 7.4%, the production of rubber and plastic products at 16.2%, and the manufacturing of other transport equipment at 19.9%. This information was provided by the HCP in a report on the industrial, energy, and mining production index (IPIEM).
Conversely, the index for tobacco product manufacturing experienced a significant decline of 28.4%. Additionally, the pharmaceutical industry, the manufacturing of metal products (excluding machinery and equipment), and metallurgy saw decreases of 17.3%, 6.6%, and 8%, respectively.
Furthermore, the production index for extractive industries rose by 7.4%, driven by a 7.5% increase in the production of various extractive industry products and a 3.2% rise in metallic ores. Lastly, the production index for electric energy recorded an increase of 6.4%.
