Insurance: Stock Market Dynamics and Interest Rate Declines Boost Sector's Latent Gains

By the end of October, the latent gains in the investment portfolios of insurance companies recorded an exceptional increase of 71.6% compared to the end of 2024, reaching 63.6 billion dirhams. This performance is primarily attributed to the strong performance of the stock market and the decline in interest rates, both of which supported the valuation of the sector's financial assets.
In this context, the overall investment portfolio appreciated by 5%, amounting to 257.9 billion dirhams, confirming the financial strength of insurers.
Operationally, the sector also shows positive dynamics. Premiums issued reached 53.6 billion dirhams by the end of October, reflecting an annual growth of 8.1%. This growth encompasses both the non-life segment (+7.9%) and the life segment (+8.3%), indicating the resilience of the activity in a still contrasting economic environment.
These indicators confirm the robustness of the insurance sector's fundamentals and its ability to benefit from favorable financial market conditions.
