Government Response to Flooding
In light of the recent flooding disaster, the government has mobilized all relevant departments to implement an aid program in accordance with Royal directives. This initiative is based on a thorough assessment of the situation on the ground and the needs of the affected populations.
Financial Assistance Details
The government has announced direct financial aid for affected families, offering up to 6,000 dirhams per household. Additionally, a financial grant of 15,000 dirhams will be provided for the rehabilitation of damaged homes and small businesses, while 140,000 dirhams will be allocated for the reconstruction of homes that have collapsed due to the floods.
Emergency Aid Application Process
Starting next week, families in need can apply for emergency financial assistance by sending an SMS to the number 1212. Applicants must include their electronic national identity card number and date of birth to facilitate verification by the relevant authorities.
On-Site Assessment and Rehabilitation Support
For the rehabilitation of damaged homes and businesses, specialized commissions will conduct precise assessments in the declared disaster zones. Affected individuals will have the opportunity to present their requests to these commissions for review, ensuring compliance with current regulatory measures to maintain transparency and fairness.
Support for the Agricultural Sector
In the agricultural sector, support will be extended to farmers impacted by the flooding through the launch of a spring crop program tailored to the specific needs of the affected regions. This includes the cultivation of oilseeds, cereals, and forage crops, along with assistance for purchasing seeds and fertilizers to expedite recovery efforts.
Commitment to Effective Management
The government emphasizes that this aid program aligns with the Royal commitment to ensure exemplary management of evacuation and relocation operations for affected populations. This proactive approach aims to mitigate potential risks and mobilize all necessary logistical resources to facilitate safe relocation and timely return to homes.
