Foreign Trade: Decrease in Unit Value Indices for Imports by 5.7% and Exports by 0.8% in Q2 2025

The decline in the unit value index for imports is primarily due to a significant drop in the unit values of several categories. Notably, "energy and lubricants" decreased by 19.2%, "finished consumer goods" by 6%, "finished industrial equipment" by 4.9%, "semi-finished products" by 4.4%, "food, beverages, and tobacco" by 1.7%, "raw products of animal and vegetable origin" by 4.5%, and "finished agricultural equipment" by 21%. This information was provided by the HCP in a report on foreign trade indices for Q2 2025.
The decrease in the unit value index for exports is mainly attributed to declines in the unit values of "finished industrial equipment" by 5.8%, "finished consumer goods" by 2.1%, "raw mineral products" by 11%, "raw products of animal and vegetable origin" by 25%, "food, beverages, and tobacco" by 0.9%, "energy and lubricants" by 12.1%, and "finished agricultural equipment" by 12.4%.
Conversely, there was an increase in the index for "semi-finished products" by 9.8%, which helped mitigate the overall decline in the export index.
