
In Paris, the CAC 40 rose by 0.31% to 7,727.59 points as of 07:16 GMT. Last Friday, it closed August with a monthly decline of 0.88%, just above the 7,700-point mark. The performance since January 1 has been adjusted to 4.38%.
In Frankfurt, the Dax strengthened by 0.32%, while the FTSE in London increased by 0.38%. The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300, EuroStoxx 50, and Stoxx 600 all gained approximately 0.30%.
Wall Street is closed for Labor Day this first Monday of September. However, investors are keeping a close watch on the United States, as an appeals court ruled on Friday that most tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump were illegal, a decision likely to be appealed to the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, the tariffs remain in effect. Uncertainties also linger regarding the independence of the U.S. Federal Reserve following the dismissal of Governor Lisa Cook, which is expected to lead to a lengthy legal battle. Investors are awaiting employment data this week to refine their monetary policy scenarios.
