Customs Revenue Increases by 5.8% by the End of July 2025
Customs revenue, which includes duties, value-added tax (VAT) on imports, and excise tax (TIC) on energy products, has seen a notable increase. According to the Treasury General of the Kingdom (TGR) in its monthly public finance statistics bulletin, these figures account for refunds, exemptions, and tax reimbursements totaling 58 million dirhams (MDH). Specifically, net customs duties reached 9.19 billion dirhams (MMDH), reflecting a 1.1% increase. Meanwhile, net revenue from VAT on imports amounted to 34.27 MMDH, marking a 4.5% rise. In terms of net revenue from the TIC on energy products, this figure stood at 11.31 MMDH, showing a significant annual increase of 14.2%, after accounting for refunds, exemptions, and tax reimbursements of 39 MDH. Overall, gross customs revenue totaled 54.84 MMDH by the end of July 2025, representing a 5.7% improvement compared to the same period in 2024.
