
The Casablanca Stock Exchange continued its consolidation phase on Friday, August 29, 2025, amid a flurry of semi-annual results from listed companies. The MASI index decreased by 0.41%, closing at 20,054.88 points, while maintaining a positive weekly performance of +0.36%. The MASI 20, which tracks the largest capitalizations, fell by 0.46% to 1,644.27 points.
Market activity on the central market remained strong, with a daily trading volume of 617 million dirhams, bringing the weekly total to 3 billion dirhams. Attijariwafa Bank led the exchanges with 126 million dirhams, closing at 781 dirhams, nearly unchanged from the previous day. TGCC saw a decline of 1.59% to 1,050 dirhams with 88 million dirhams traded, while Marsa Maroc, after a series of increases, corrected by 1.57% to 972 dirhams with 78 million dirhams traded. The total market capitalization stood at 1.055 trillion dirhams.
In terms of stock performance, Lesieur Cristal stood out as the biggest gainer, rising by 5.26% to 300 dirhams. Conversely, Fenie Brossette recorded the largest drop, falling by 10% to 490.25 dirhams. At the close, the balance of variations leaned towards declines, with six stocks remaining unchanged.
In other news, Sothema reported a 17% increase in revenue for the first half of 2025, while CIH Bank announced a 17.8% rise in net banking income for the same period.
