The Casablanca Stock Exchange opened the week on a negative note, with the MASI index closing at approximately 18,385 points, down 1.39%. This decline has resulted in a year-to-date decrease of 2.45%.

The MASI 20 index experienced a more pronounced drop of 1.65%, finishing the session at 1,424.32 points, marking an annual decline of 4.13%.

Trading Activity

Trading volume on the central market reached 311.03 million dirhams, with Attijariwafa bank leading in volume, accounting for 34.95 million dirhams in transactions. The bank's stock closed down 0.73% at 720 dirhams.

Compagnie Minière de Touissit followed closely, with 29.01 million dirhams exchanged, and it recorded the highest gain of the day, rising 8.63% to 2,379 dirhams.

SGTM rounded out the top three most active stocks, with 25.91 million dirhams in trades, but saw a decline of 2.50%, closing at 818 dirhams.

Notable Performers

In addition to Compagnie Minière de Touissit, SMI also showed significant growth, increasing by 8.08% to close at 6,701 dirhams. Sothema also performed well, gaining 4.45% to finish at 1,808 dirhams.

Market Capitalization

At the end of the trading session, the total market capitalization stood at 1,025.5 billion dirhams.
