Accompanied by Jet Energy, OCP Green Energy Launches the First Phase of Its 202 MWp Solar Program

OCP Green Energy, a subsidiary of the OCP Group, officially commissioned the first phase of its solar investment program on Monday, achieving a total capacity of 202 megawatts-peak (MWp). This milestone represents a crucial step in the decarbonization roadmap of the global phosphate giant.
The initial phase is now fully operational and is deployed across three strategic sites: Benguerir (67 MWp), Foum Tizi (30 MWp), and Oulad Farès in the Khouribga province. Notably, the Oulad Farès plant, with an installed capacity of 105 MWp, is currently the largest photovoltaic power plant in operation in Morocco.
This first phase required an investment of nearly 1.8 billion dirhams and was developed with significant involvement from the Moroccan industrial ecosystem, alongside support from leading international financial partners. The project leveraged the expertise of Jet Energy, a subsidiary of Jet Contractors.
In a statement, Omar Kadir, the CEO of OCP Green Energy, emphasized that the subsidiary aims to provide concrete solutions to meet the Group's strategic ambitions, particularly regarding decarbonization. "The Group aims for carbon neutrality by 2040, with very ambitious interim targets, especially in electricity, where we aim to secure 100% of our supply from renewable sources," Mr. Kadir stated, noting that these goals are being realized on a large scale.
Established in 2022, OCP Green Energy aims to meet 100% of the Group's electricity needs by 2027, targeting a capacity of 1.2 GW based on a mix of renewable energies and storage.
