The Professional Association of Payment Institutions (APEP), chaired by Mrs. Maha Kohen, President of the Board of Damane Cash, relies on a leadership team composed of key players in the sector to address issues of innovation, financial inclusion, and regulation. The Executive Office is structured as follows: - President: Maha Kohen – President of the Board, Damane Cash - First Vice-President: Adil Chraibi – General Director, Barid Cash - Second Vice-President: Mehdi Khandid – General Director, Inwi Money - Treasurer: Ismael Belkhayat – General Director, Chari Money - General Delegate: Mohamed Benkaddour Sectoral Commission Presidents include: - Fund Transfers: Abdeslam Bouirig – General Director, Wafacash - Mobile Payments: Meryam El Antaki – General Director, Al Filahi Cash - Bill Payments – eGov: Brahim Zekhnini – General Director, Lanacash - Manual Exchange: Omar El Mghari Idrissi – General Director, M2T - Acquisition & Electronic Payment: Mustapha Badr-Ezzaman – General Director, VPS A New Governance Structure In accordance with the standards of professional associations recognized by Moroccan authorities, APEP's governance is based on a democratic and representative structure. The office is elected for a renewable three-year term, with the main mission of defining the strategic directions of the association, ensuring its representation with public authorities, and coordinating the work of thematic commissions. The sectoral commissions, chaired by recognized experts, are responsible for addressing technical, regulatory, and operational issues specific to each segment of the payment sector. They serve as a forum for consultation and co-construction of common positions among members. APEP works closely with Bank Al-Maghrib, other regulatory bodies, and sister associations operating in banking, technology, or commercial fields. A Collective Ambition for the Development of Digital Payments in Morocco By uniting all payment institutions around a common vision, APEP aims to promote an innovative, secure, and inclusive ecosystem. Its priorities include: - Interoperability of payment solutions - Digitalization of everyday transactions - Combatting cash usage - Strengthening user trust through common standards of quality and security.
