2025 Stock Market Championship: Award Winners
The ceremony was moderated by Ahmed Bennani, Head of the School of the Stock Exchange, and opened by Mohamed Saad, Deputy General Director of the Casablanca Stock Exchange. He emphasized, "Today, we are not only celebrating winners but also the curiosity, talent, and perseverance of our youth. We are celebrating a shared vision: that of accessible, modern, and engaging financial education." The 2025 edition of the Stock Market Championship attracted 2,124 participants, both Moroccan and foreign, from 30 higher education institutions in Morocco, as well as Moroccan students studying abroad. Held from April 10 to May 9, 2025, this eighth edition marked a significant milestone, confirming the growing prominence of this educational competition as a benchmark for financial education. Indicators revealed during the ceremony reflected an increasing enthusiasm and engagement among young investors: 2,124 participants (+63% compared to 2024), including 1,160 active users (+64%); 44,414 orders placed during the period (+102%); an average of 2,115 orders per day, with 38.3 orders per day per active user. According to Ahmed Bennani, this growth illustrates a genuine interest: "We are seeing a rising number of players. This proves the interest and curiosity of young people, as well as the general public, who are increasingly interested in the stock market. Many citizens are reaching out to our teams for awareness and training initiatives. Under the leadership of Zineb Guennouni, Director of Development, and with the support of the School of the Stock Exchange staff, we are conducting active campaigns throughout the Kingdom to make the stock market accessible to all." The championship places each participant at the helm of a virtual portfolio of one million dirhams, invested in stocks listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange. Participants implemented their own investment strategies and analyzed price movements during the competition period, utilizing the analytical tools provided by the new platform e-Bourse.ma, developed by the Casablanca Stock Exchange in partnership with TradingView. The management rules instill sound practices: diversification (capping by line), no short selling, limit orders with a margin of ±18% around the reference price, and liquidity constraints through average daily quantities. The objective is to confront the reality of decisions (timing, risk, volatility, adherence to framework) in an environment closely resembling actual market conditions. Highlights of the 2025 winners include: - Reda Ait Allal Mohamed: Champion of the 2025 edition from ISIAM Business School in Agadir, 5th year in Management Control & Audit, with a performance of 46.35%. - Nour-Eddin Ait-bouguarri: 2nd place from Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Benguérir, 2nd year in Computer Science, with a performance of 31.82%. - Salmi Amrou: 3rd place from the Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences (EMSI) in Rabat, 5th year in Financial Engineering, with a performance of 28.65%. - Mohammed Chifahi: 4th place from the School of Higher Economic, Commercial and Engineering Studies (HEEC) in Marrakech, 5th year in Accounting, Control & Audit, with a performance of 27.62%. - Ilyass Moustaid: 5th place from the National School of Commerce and Management – UH1 (ENCG) in Settat, 5th year in International Trade, with a performance of 24.96%. In the female category, Nada Benfikri from the Faculty of Economics and Management - UIT in Kenitra, 3rd year in Common Core Management, achieved a performance of 17.22%. These young winners were recognized for their achievements and received gifts from the Casablanca Stock Exchange, as well as finance training provided by its partner, the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). They will also benefit from one year of mentoring from members of the London Morocco Network, a private club in London comprising Moroccans in high-level positions in economic and financial sectors. With the launch of the Stock Market Championship, the Casablanca Stock Exchange reaffirms its commitment to financial inclusion and the promotion of financial literacy among students. Beyond this annual competition, the Casablanca Stock Exchange conducts numerous initiatives in financial education, particularly through the School of the Stock Exchange, in collaboration with various national and international partners, including the Moroccan Foundation for Financial Education (FMEF). These actions in favor of financial culture and inclusion are part of a sustainable and ongoing financial education policy, implemented for over 25 years by the School of the Stock Exchange, which has trained more than 85,000 individuals to date. "The Stock Market Championship is much more than a game: it is a true training tool, a springboard for future investors, and a gateway to a concrete understanding of financial markets," concludes Ahmed Bennani.
